Please look at all the close ups that I took of this rare Trifari piece. Possibly a Jewels Of India piece - while some of us associate pagodas with Japan or China if you read the history they originated in India. This large and pretty pendant has an array of colorful stones ranging from greens, blues, purple, red, yellow and pink. The pagoda has fancy overlay work and this is a quality piece of Trifari. The gold tone has antiqued color. I believe the chunky chain to be original. The bottom is marked Trifari with an openwork design. Jewels of India series was the reproduction of the 1945 Alfred Philippe designed pieces named as Jewels of Tanjore. The Jewels of India series was introduced in 1965. This piece is post 1955 as it carries a copyright symbol after Trifari and is circa 1960s when this mark was used.
The pendant measures 1 and 1/4 by 1 and 1/4 inches across the bottom. It is 1 and 7/8 inches tall including the bale. The chain it came on when I purchased it is 30 inches in length. As stated above, I think this is original and it is the right color and looks correct for the era.
This piece is in excellent condition. The pagoda is well made and secure. All the stones look great with no damage. There is nothing that has to be reported about this piece - it was well loved and taken care of. Please ignore reflections and camera glare.
