For your consideration is this mid to late 1800s antique genuine coral brooch. Carrying 16 round coral berries and 20 well carved coral drops. Beautifully hand made , the coral is attached with a wire cluster. So many of these old pieces are missing pieces and this brooch is all secure and sturdy and in tact. The coral is natural undyed Mediterranean coral and a lovely shade of medium salmon. I was not quite sure on the metal so to be safe , we took it to a local jeweler who informed us that the piece was gold wash over silver.

The brooch measures 1 and 1/2 inches across by a hair over 1 and 1/8 inches top to bottom.

The pinback on this piece has been jeweler replaced with a newer locking pinback but this is not a recent repair. The coral has natural variations and the piece would benefit from a cleaning. Please ignore glare and reflections.
