STATELY Early German Provencal Silver & Silver Gilt Link Bracelet w/Hallmarks, c.1855!

Dating to c.1850-1860, this German bracelet has made it into the 21st century in 100% all-original condition, and is a joy to behold!

Measuring 6 3/4" wearable length x 3/4" wide, this stunning bracelet is completely hand-constructed, and is comprised of wide silver links connected by "paper-clip" style silver spacer links! This gives the bracelet wonderful fluidity, and it feels like silk on the wrist! It also boasts a silver gilt box-style clasp decorated with high-Victorian repousse scrollwork - SO LOVELY!

This jewel was crafted in Thuringia, Germany and is hallmarked with the cockerel's head for the the town of Ilmenan. It is wrought from .812 grade silver, as indicated by the loth mark "13" on the outer edge of the box clasp. Best of all, it has survived in as fine a condition as when it adorned the wrist of a German lady of fashion over 160 years ago!

This bracelet is 100% intact, right down to its safety chain! The "tongue-in-groove" clasp locks securely, and there are no losses or repairs. The silver has built up a beautiful patina over the generations, but it could easily be polished up to its former glory by the new owner; I prefer to leave the patina intact on all of my antique jewelry, as it is a testament to its great age.

Weighing in at 16.11 grams, the wide link design of this bracelet ensures that it will always be in style, and it is beautifully proportioned, making it suitable for day or evening wear. If you collect the best in antique silver jewelry, this fine example belongs on your wrist and in your collection! It would also make a wonderful holiday gift for any lady fond of early Victorian jewelry, and will be shipped in a gift box suitable for storing or giving. Do not miss this pretty bracelet, it is priced for quick sale, and USPS Priority shipping is FREE!
