DRAMATIC 2 5/8" Victorian Chalcedony/12k Drop Earrings, c.1870!
Crafted from carved chalcedony and 12k yellow gold, these Victorian beauties have made it into the 21st century in fresh-as-a-daisy condition, and look just as lovely today as when they graced the ears of a Victorian lady of wealth and fashion over 140 years ago! These stunning torpedo drop jewels measure a grand 2 5/8" long with their original ear wires. The top of the earrings feature a polished chalcedony bead measuring 10 mm in diameter, and bezeled in gold. The perfectly-proportioned drops are beautifully faceted, topped with substantial 12k gold caps, and measure 9 mm at their widest points. The earrings are unmarked, but test to 12k gold.
Simply a timeless pair of fine Victorian earrings, these jewels really light up on the ear, and are suitable for day or evening wear; they will take you from the office to the theatre in high style! The chalcedony is the most lovely shade of luminous white, with subtle figuring in the drops which look almost like moonstones, but with a finer polish! All of the stones are free of chips or damage, and I really have never seen a prettier pair. Together, they weigh in at 7.76 grams, and are very comfortable; best of all, they will always be in style!
If you love the best in fine Victorian earrings, these are certain to become a prized addition to your collection! They would also make a stellar holiday gift for any lady fond of classic antique earrings, or better yet, treat yourself this year; you deserve it! They will be shipped in a gift box suitable for giving or storing. Do not miss these timeless jewels; they are priced right, and USPS Priority shipping is FREE!
