Vintage French Needlepoint Tapestry "FEU de CIEL", Odette Caly, 1973

This is a wonderful French Tapestry in Brilliant Colors...entitled: "FEU du CIEL" (Fire from Heaven), in a nice size of 25.25" wide by 30.5 tall, unframed, but fastened solidly to a wood stretcher. Signed in the tapestry "CALY" (Odette Caly)

Brilliant Reds and Oranges depict the Sun radiating its Fire....this Tapestry was hand done (See Photos).

Odette Caly was a French Jewish Artist (1914-1993) from Paris, who did many Cartoons for tapestries, and paintings...this particular Tapestry was done by the "Atelier d'Art Contemporaine La Lice, under the direction of Jean Picart le Doux" (which was on its original Label that was removed some time in the past, but I can provide a copy of the Label that was on the other "Feu de Ciel" tapestry that I have already sold... and this one is Unframed, but can be hung just like it is....

Just received several French Tapestries from the Mid Century Moderne period til the 1970's These are fabulous for decorating....see my other Vintage Textile listings or search on my site for "tapestry"....
