We are offering a very attractive hand painted plate that is marked "Royal Vienna" and "Peinture a la main. " The plate measures 12 ½ inches across. The ground fades from a pale green to cream to a chocolate brown. A set of three well-executed roses are at the bottom with a vine that curls around to the top where two more roses are found. Around the edge there is a gilt band that shows very little sign of any wear. The plate is signed in the lower right with "L. Renault." The piece is typical of Victorian era plates that were often hand painted at home. The condition of the plate is very good with only a couple of extremely small scratches and minor imperfections. There are no chips and the gilt edge is bright with minor crazing on a small part of the edge. This plate would be a nice display piece to hang on the wall or add to your plate display shelf.
