This wonderful footed tray comes from pre-World War II Germany in the 1920's. It measures 12 inches in diameter and has a total height from the tabletop of 3/4 inch with the handles adding an additional 3/8 inch. It consists of a ceramic glazed tile in the center that has been decorated with a bunch of grapes and a vine motif. The design is very strong. There are some inventory and design code numbers on the back that mean nothing to us. Around the rim there is metal edging that is constructed of an unknown metal and has been plated with chrome. There is intermittent oxidation of the metal primarily located on the two handles. The ceramic tray is in top-notch condition with no chips, cracks or breaks. The metal rim is also in good condition with some very minor dings and oxidation as mentioned earlier. The three ball feet are all present and firmly attached. Overall, this is a decorative item that you would always feel comfortable using or displaying at any time. It would look great hanging on a wall but would also be a nice way to serve your cheese and crackers with a good glass of wine!
