Sweetpea Cottage is offering you a delightful little colored print done on fabric by the artist Ludwig Burgel. The actual print is 6 1/4 inches by 7 1/4 inches with the signature and title adding another ½ inch at the bottom. The whole piece is 7 ½ by 9 inches which includes the blank background of the fabric. It is loosely mounted on a board and matted. A printed title is attached to the board underneath the mat that says Original Radierung von Ludwig Burgel * Zillertaler Alpen 71 . The print comes inserted into a wooden frame. However, it is a very cheap frame that came with the print and it does not do the piece justice. We are leaving the print with the frame, just as we obtained it. However, the new owner can certainly do much better with frame selection. Research indicates that Ludwig Burgel lived from 1901 to 1972. He apparently did many prints in a series, this item being one of that series. However, this particular subject Zillertaler Alpen is more rare than most of his works. The print is in very good condition, clean and crisp. There is one small wavy area in the upper right corner where the print was attached to the backer board. The piece is ready to be properly matted and framed so that it can be hung in a place of distinction in your home or office.
