Titled "The Pueblo Children of the Earth Mother" in two volumes, this hardcover set of books were published in1983 by Doubleday & Company, Garden City, NY This is the first edition. The subject matter in volume 1 is the heritage, culture, crafts and traditions of the Anasazi ancestors of the Pueblo Indians of the Southwest. Volume 2 covers the culture, crafts and ceremonials of the Pueblo Indians of yesterday and today. Both volumes have many illustrations by Mails done as brown tone drawings within the text and with 39 color plates. Volume 1 has 522 pages and Volume 2 has 534 pages. total of 1056 pages. Each volume is in fine condition and with fine dust jackets that have been protected with Brodart sleeves. All in all this is a very handsome set of books with wonderful artwork. It would make a great gift for the bibliophile in your life or for the collector of art books or Native American materials.
