Mahogany Artisan Early American Tray, In-box, Desk Accessory

This beautiful tray, done in the Colonial, or Williamsburg, style, is made from fine mahogany. With great grain patterns and rich color it is bound to catch anybody's eye. Look at the wonderful swirl of the book-matched grain patterns on the inside of the bottom. As the light catches the tray, it shimmers as it changes appearance.

The largest external dimensions of the base are 10 1/2inches by 14 3/8 inches. The internal dimensions of the tray are 9 11/16 inches by 13 ½ inches. The total height, including the base, is 2 1/4 inches. The total height of the sides of the tray are 2 inches. Made completely by hand, the sides high-light keyhole designs cut into the sides and the ends. The base is attached using solid brass screws, allowing it to float, in order to accommodate seasonal changes. It has been stained lightly with an antique mahogany stain, designed to give a rich patina and high-light the grain. A high quality varnish was applied for added protection against wear, and then it was treated with a coat of quality carnuba wax. This tray will provide years of pleasure and service.
