Sweetpea Cottage is offering this delightful reproduction knife caddy made in our own woodworking shops. Modeled after Early American knife caddy's, utility trays, or utensil trays, this item has the traditional inverted heart design on the handle. It measures 7 3/4 inches wide, 14 inches long, and the sides are 2 1/4 inches high. The heart handle adds another 3 3/4 inches to the height, for a total height of 6 inches. It has been painted with traditional milk paint in Soldier blue, carefully distressed to add age, and then top-coated with rub-on polyurethane to protect it from fingerprints and dirt. Imagine this sitting on your Fall holiday table, filled with fruit, nuts, gourds, or dried leaves. As a decorative item it will establish a feeling of hearth and home.
