The artisan shop at Sweetpea Cottage offers this beautiful necklace made from our own art glass beads and pendant. Knotted simply with leather cord, these lovely beads and pendant, all made by Joan Drews, make an elegant version of the usually casual leather necklace. The glass beads in this lovely piece are lampwork beads, each unique and each in shades of violet and amethyst. Some sparkle with champagne pixie dust. Some have a plum metallic finish, accomplished by use of a reduction flame. At the base of the necklace is a substantial dichroic pendant, fused in our hot glass shop. The pendant is just over 2.25 inches long by 1.25 inches wide. Clasping the ends together is a sterling silver lobster clasp. This extraordinary necklace was designed to be longer than the average piece and measures 28.25 inches long. The lovely blend of violets in this unique necklace is so subtle that it can be worn with most colors. Just a matter of trying it out!
