This lovely old beaded handbag is probably from the 20s or 30s when these bags were popular. It is definitely handmade and looks as though it has been in storage for quite some time. It is lined in black silk which is in surprisingly good condition given how fine it is. A silk ribbon serves as a drawstring to close the bag at the top and it is tied in a charming bow at the end. There are a few lengths of fringe at the bottom that are missing and a small area on one side that has come apart. These beads would be easy to replace for someone who collects and restores these very special bags.
