In 1986 Boehm porcelain of Trenton, New Jersey introduced The Boehm human figure sculptures. To mark the introduction of the Boehm human figures, each sculpture which was completed by December 31, 1986, was hallmarked with the commemorative phrase, "Premiere Issue 1986".
Offered here is "Jennifer and Her Looking Glass" which was number 4 of 4 in the American Ladies line. This figurine was limited to 350 pieces and this one is number 50.
I have included a picture of Jennifer from the 1986 catalog which shows her hallmark AL4 and her original price; which was $975.00.
The book also says "Jennifer's hands must be precisely balanced during firing to accommodate the mirror. Bows and flowers are entirely handmade."
Each flower in Jennifer's hair and on her dress is extremely delicate yet they are in perfect condition. Jennifer has a total of 12 flowers. There are two tiny buds in her hair. She is holding one up to her hair while looking in the glass, there is on the front of her dress and 8 on the back.
Jennifer stands 9 1/2" high by 6" wide and is 4 1/2" in diameter.
She is marked with her name, Jennifer and Her Looking Glass. She has her AL4 hallmark and also has a fan shaped logo which reads; Premiere Issue 1986.
Jennifer is in Excellent Condition without any nicks, chips, or cracks.
She would made a wonderful addition to any fine porcelain collection.
