Southern Pacific Railroad "Sunset" Little China Cream Pitcher
This creamer makes a very nice display with its colorful side logo and pretty white flower band defining the rim. The flowers even run up the handle. The logo is in excellent condition with almost no damage -- we often see them disfigured by scratching (or even poor transfers to begin with).
There are NO cracks, hairlines, spiders, crazing or repairs. There are NO serious glaze imperfections. To find any light surface marks you must tilt the pitcher in bright light and look for them.
There is a shallow, narrow flake that appears to be manufacturing damage along the bottom rim on the BACK side (away from display) -- please LOOK AT OUR PHOTOS. Also a manufacturing flaw is a tiny surface fissure where the pottery apparently pulled away during firing (see our photo marked X, it is inside the rim below the X).
There are some scattered age yellowing spots, not unexpected due to age. we have NOT made any attempt to bleach or otherwise remove these.
Although it is not marked, from the shape and the incised number on the bottom we are going to say it was made by Syracuse China, although several other china companies also produced this well loved pattern for the SPRR.
