B&MRRR.NEB Hollow Barrel Railroad Switch Key

This key is from the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad, which was located in Nebraska. (It is not a Boston & Maine.) It is a terrific example of their hard to find steel switch key.

On one side of the bow it is stamped B&MRRR.NEB and on the other G666 above the letter S. If you look beside the "G" you will see what at first glance looks to be a faded letter C, but is actually the Adams & Westlake Company's stamped 6-sided hallmark logo, which says A&W CO / CHICAGO .

This key is in superb condition. The color is striking: a soft silver gray like an old half dollar coin. There are nice rounded edges on the bit and end of the barrel from use. The tops of the stamped letters are worn slightly from "finger polish." Absolutely NO rust or corrosion, NO twists or warps and NO splits or cracks.

A really nice find for a Midwest railroad collector.
