This gorgeous covered jar is in very nice condition. This item is not marked, done in the Meissen style, but I am fairly certain it is Coalbrookdale /Coalport. I have been told this was made in the early part of the 19th Century. This item is extremely delicate and well done. Besides the numerous applied flowers, there are hand painted butterflies, pansies and roses. The photos show the expertly painted gold accents throughout.
I would like to point out I just found an area where one part of the handle was reattached. Also, I have show one flower with a chip. In the one photo, there is a slight depression in the gold border. I do not know if this is a repair or factory made. I purchased this jar in the present condition and have done no restoration to it. There may be a few more tiny nibbles to the flowers, but I do not see anything the jumps out at me. These porcelain flowers are very thin and delicate.
This item is approximately 5 1/4 inches wide when measured from the handles. With the lid on, the jar is 3 7/8 inches tall to the top of the rose. The bowl portion is 3 1/4 inches in diameter.
