In vogue harp shield pendant; garnet beads necklace. Designer jewelry.

I am always fascinated by modern design of fashion jewelry with links to the past. I tried to do it here, by a contemporary-heraldic sterling silver pendant with garnet stones on a burgundy garnet beads necklace. A friend of mine says that the pendant reminds her of King David's harp re designed as a shield. You can see the picture of Bar Kokhba coin (CE. 135) with a lyre, the ancient version of harp, and decide. Anyhow, it was not my inspiration when I designed this pendant. The heraldic contemporary sterling silver pendant is composed of a heart accented with two burgundy garnet stones. The simple lined pendant is accented with nail heads which are associated with knightly accessories. The garnet stones size is 6x8 mm. The pendant hangs on a delicate garnet beads necklace by a sterling silver ring and nail swivel. The necklace is made of 4 strands of fine 1.5 mm garnet beads. The beads have a beautiful texture and color. I designed the sterling silver necklace closures holding the garnet strands to complement the spirit of the pendant. The necklace is 17.5". The pendant is 43x25 mm. The end closures are 15 mm wide. I oxidized the silver in order to get the desired metal flavor. I really don't know whether it is fashion jewelry, a designer jewelry or just jewelry. Whatever the answer, it is different and unique. So, in the spirit of a lyric harp and a powerful shield, when wearing this necklace you will enjoy sensations of self satisfaction and beauty.
