This magnificent, Donath & Company, coffee pot with its ornate, hand painted design features, on both sides, a handsome, Victorian gentleman pursuing a beautiful, maiden decked out in her finest, satin gown. The artist has captured, from a sweet smile to a single blade of grass, every detail with the stroke of his brush. The all-over gold detailing is simply amazing! It stands, from its regal finial to its scalloped base, 10 inches and reversed is a Donath & Company hallmark (1803 - 1016) as well as a gold flower painted over the manufacturers hallmark. This gilded, over glaze was frequently done by many of the Dresden studios. Porcelain manufacturer trademarks covered include, Meissen, Thomas Co. and hallmarks from various Limoges companies. Also on the bottom are a series of numbers: 36654.
Without exception, this hand painted, rare, German treasure is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
