This stunning, Bavaria cache pot features, on both sides, romantic bouquets filled with deep purple and soft lavender, African violets nestled in lush greenery and highlighted with a wide, radiant gold, border, faux handles and four, ball footings. It stands, from its golden rim to its footed base, 7 inches with an opening measuring 5.5 inches by 3 inches. Reversed is a Heinrich & Co. German hallmark used starting in 1896 and the artist, Ida Sommer's signature. Sommers ran a china painting studio in Chicago from 1915 to 1918 competing against such power houses as Pickard, Brauer and Stouffer.
With the exception of a small, manufactured blemish on the rim which has possibly had gold applied and the expected light surface scratches on the gold, this hand painted and artist signed, Bavarian beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or paint flakes.
