This fabulous, Stouffer golden poppy and wheat set was meticulously hand painted on Jean Pouyat Limoges blanks. The set consists of a 12.5 inch chocolate pot, tea pot, lidded sugar, creamer, cup and saucer, candlestick, 8.5 inch plate and a large, 13 inch charger. With the exception of the charger and saucer each is signed by the talented artist, Carl Buschbeck ((Bek)) who, during his career, also worked for the Pickard Studios.
The tea pot stands, from its regal, gold finial to its base, 5 inches and from its stately spout to golden handle, is nearly 9 inches. The lidded sugar stands 4.5 inches and the creamer about 2.5 inches. Reversed on the creamer only is both a Jean Pouyat Limoges and Stouffer hallmark. The tea pot and sugar bear only the JP Limoges hallmark. All three are signed.
The coco cup stands, from its radiant gold, rim to its scalloped base, 3 inches and the saucer measures 5 inches in diameter. Reversed is a Jean Pouyat Limoges patent hallmark dated, July 23, 1906. Buschbeck signed the cup only.
The candlestick stands 6.5 inches, is artist signed and also bears a Jean Pouyat Limoges patent hallmark.
The charger measures 13 inches in diameter and reversed is both a Jean Pouyat Limoges and Stouffer hallmark which was used between 1906 and 1914.
With the exception of the typical, light surface scratches on the gold, slight gold wear and, here and there, some desired patina on the gold, this hand painted and artist signed American beauty is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration of any kind.
