Unique and quite rare is this baby grand piano powder compact made in England by Pygmalion. It comes complete with the original sifter and puff that reads "Sonata." Considering its age, it is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. This gold-tone beauty stands on three metal legs that fold away so it will easily fit into a make-up bag or evening purse. The top has an engraved diamond-like pattern with a small blank cartouche for a personalized monogram. Around the edge is a highly ornate, engraved fleur-de-lis design. The beveled mirror is intact and clear and the hinges are very good. All the catches work and the top shuts tightly and securely. It measures 2 3/4 inches by 2 3/8 inches and stands, with the legs extended 1 1/4 inch. As you can see from the photos, this Pygmalion ladies compact is absolutely beautiful.
