Fenton Stars and Stripes Cranberry Opalescent Glass Tumbler

The rare cranberry opalescent stars and stripes tall tumbler created for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1992 by the Fenton Art Glass Company. The stars and stripes pattern is one you don't see very often and this was a special run by Fenton for the MMA in New York City.

Cranberry glass is made with real gold in the formula. The color is brought forth in a delicate reheating process. The cranberry glass is then cased with clear crystal glass with bone ash in the formula and reheated again in a mold that has the stars and stripes pattern in it.

This tumbler has a round Fenton sticker on it and is marked on the bottom with Fenton in an oval with a '9' for the 1990's and MMA 92.

It is 5 1/4 inches tall and in excellent condition with no damage or repairs.
