Rare Orante Sterling Silver Scottish Buckle Circa 1740

This remarkable and rare Scottish buckle dates 1740-1741! The condition is OUTSTANDING!! Definitely a museum quality item! It is silver, made in Edinburgh and features finely executed images of doves (for peace), grapes (plenty, fecundity), hearts (love), and torches (purity). SIgned D.H. Lion Passant Leopard's Hend L. The buckles has two pieces which connect to make one. This high quality piece has substantial weight to it and measures 4" wide when the two are placed together. Fabulous condition!
