Set of 8 rare carved 19th C. Wigmaker's Mannequin Heads from France.
An interesting and highly collectible group of naively carved wooden Wigmakers' Heads from France.
Made in the mid-19th century , each with its own individual expression, the heads were made as both blocks on which the wigs were individually created and also for use in shops to display them. In original worn condition with numerous pin and other markings.
Carved in a variety of woods these 'primitive' looking folk art objects are offered either as a group or individually on application.
