Rare pair of 19th C. Showfront Canvases from France with Hunting Scenes.
Magnificent pair of very large Oil Paintings stretched on their original frames, from a travelling 'Menagerie' or Wild Animal show in 19th century France.
Travelling shows of this type - including The Buffalo Bill Cody Wild West show,- toured America and Europe, and used these huge canvases outside the show fronts to attract the customers in.
Measuring 6ft high x 8ft wide, the signed paintings which humourously depict a Duck shoot and a Grizzley hunt, are in reasonably good condition with a bit of wear to the borders of the canvases.
