Early 19th century Oil Painting of an aristocratic Frenchwoman dressed in the costume of the Restoration period after the fall of Napleon Bonaparte (1820-1830). Just visibly she is wearing the medal of the Croix de St.Louis, the emblem of the pro -Bourbon monarchist party. Measuring 37 inches high x 33 wide, this is a fine historic painting set in a gilded frame from the same period, in reasonable condition with some surface wear mainly at the bottom of the painting and around the area of the arms.
