This is a wonderful old wooden Ink Holder. It has a spring loaded leather stopper inside of the top that keeps the ink from spilling when it is closed. When you screw the lid onto the bottom part it holds the ink without spilling. Beautifully made and probably circa 1880. It has been repaired from a split on the bottom of the case. The bottle can be lifted out to refill and has a wood ring around the neck of the bottle. This ink holder is beautifully made and a real treasure.
