This is an absolutely wonderful bolo tie. It was made by an American Indian ca. 1940-50's. It is marked with initials of "RQ VVMV and Sterling" I have not been able to find the name of the maker. It is traditional early work with a large 2.25 inch length and 1 and 7/8 inches wide sterling horseshoe with 10 pieces of spider web turquoise on the outside rim. It has a shadow box look to the inside with feathers, beads and trim circling a beautiful piece of spider web turquoise that measures 20 by 15mm in size. This is not a hollow piece it is solid and weighs 50.2 grams and the sterling ends of the bolo weigh 5 grams. The clasp is marked "Bennett Pat. Pend".
