4-Piece French Ormolu Vanity Set, Signed Hand Painted Miniature Portraits

An early to mid 1900's French ormolu vanity suite. The set comprising of a pair of brushes, a mirror and a jewelry box. Each is decorated in ornate floral patterning, and surmounted with a lovely hand painted miniature portrait housed under convex glass. Each portrait depicts a lady in period costuming, bright and colorfully painted with minute detailing. One portrait depicts a courting couple in a pastoral setting, and another depicts a lady with a dog at her side. Each is signed S. Guéron. The mirror has a nice thick beveled glass and the brushes both have wooden backings. The jewelry box features a patterned frieze of scrolling foliate and flowers surrounding the circumference, the hinge lid opens to reveal a red velvet lined interior. The box is marked at the base with 'Made in France'. Overall the set is in good condition showing minimum signs of use, some wear to the gilding, particularity to the handles.

Handled mirror measures 10 1/2" length x 4" width, portrait is about 2 5/8" x 1 7/8". Handled Brush measures 8 7/8" x 2 7/8", portrait is approx. 2 1/4" x 1 1/2". Oval Brush is 4 7/8" x 2 7/8", with a portrait of approx. 2 1/4" x 1 1/2". Jewelry box measures 5 7/8" length x 4 3/8" width x 1 7/8" tall, with a portrait of about 2" diameter.
