Antique French sterling silver napkin ring embellished with finely casted decoration. The motif comprising of a leafy vine tipped by roses and flowers cascading around a shield shaped cartouche engraved with a monogram of interlaced initials H.B. In very good condition with general wear, the napkin ring is slightly out of round. Marked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, which depicts the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her indicating a silver content of .950/1000 silver, 95% pure silver and a higher grade than .925 sterling. Also bearing maker's marks for Parisian silversmith Claude Doutre Roussel, who commenced trade in 1895 at 118 rue Vieille du Temple, Paris. Measures 2" diameter x 1 5/8" height. Weighs 44.8g
