A rare and striking 14pc antique German .800 silver and cut crystal liquor service, complete and housed in the original presentation box! The set comprises of twelve silver shot glasses with gilt interiors, one claret jug or decanter and a tray. The decanter features a sinuous handle, hinged lid, and spout, elegantly crafted in silver. Further decorated with a gorgeous crystal body, cut with a spiral fluted patterning. Lovely wheel cut paneling accents the neck, and a deep 16-point wheel cut star-burst adorns the base. Each shot glass is crafted from silver, mirroring the spiraled motif of the decanter and revealing gold gilt interiors. The same stunning decor adorns the rim of the tray. Hallmarked with the post-1886 German marks of the crescent moon and crown, the silver finesse of .800/1000 (almost sterling) and a maker's mark, likely Hugo Böhm, Schwäbisch Gmünd, founded in 1887. The service is complete, and housed protectively all these years in the original fitted presentation box. The box shows some wear from age, the lid opens to reveal a ruched interior in a vibrant red satin lining. A stunning set. In very good condition, showing general wear. The tray has a shallow indention in the center.
