Antique French Sterling Silver Napkin Ring, Cherub Motif, 950 Minerva

A charming antique French sterling silver napkin ring, featuring rare figural decoration. Surrounded by an exquisite patterned frieze done in finely detailed guilloche engraving, depicting a ring of delightful cherubs or putti cheerfully dancing hand in hand! Centered by stylized medallion cartouche, free of any monogram so it's perfect to personalize with your own engraved initials. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard hallmark, which depicts the head of the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of .950/1000 silver (95% pure silver and a higher grade of finesse than .925 sterling!) Silversmith mark appears to be for Charles Legendre, active from 1879-1887 at 143 rue du Temple in Paris. In overall good antique condition. Measures 1 1/4" tall x 2" diameter Weighs 29.8g
