Rare and large antique late 19th century French Limoges enamel on copper portrait plaque, depicting Jesus Christ with gilt painted halo and the sacred heart. Exquisitely painted in vibrant colors with amazing detail, especially to the face and hands. Signed by the enamellist, -Normand-, at the bottom corner. The portrait is housed within a bronze Gothic altarpiece style frame, with red velvet lining. A superb devotional/religious artwork. Wooden backing with loop ring for hanging display. In wonderful condition, with no damage to the enamel portrait, some wear to the velvet commensurate with age. Frame measures 14" x 7 1/2" wide, portrait measures approximately 5 1/8" x 3 3/8" wide.
