Ornate Antique French Sterling Silver Repousse Napkin Ring, Silversmith Henri Soufflot
Fine antique French sterling silver napkin ring, of 95% pure silver and decorated in repousse ornamentation. Featuring elaborate rococo C-scrolls and bordering accented by sinuous trailing vines dotted with berries. Centered by an asymmetrical blank cartouche, perfect to have your own engraved monogrammed initials or family coat or arms! A charming napkin ring, of good quality, just perfect for the table settings and great to accompany an assorted collection of French napkin rings. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, depicting the head of the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of .950/1000, which is almost 95% pure silver and higher than 925 sterling. Also bearing maker's marks for Parisian silversmith Henri Soufflot, active from 1884-1910, at 89 rue de Turbigo in Paris. The napkin ring is slightly out of round but in overall good condition with some general wear. Measures 2" diameter x 1 3/8" tall and weighs 36.4g.
