Antique French Silver & Cut Banded Agate Handled Wax Seal, Desk Stamp
An antique French silver mounted writer's wax seal or desk stamp, with a wheel cut banded agate handle. Decorated with ornate embossed silver mount, the matrix bearing an engraved monogram of initials LD in old Gothic script. The exquisite faceted handle exhibits such beautiful coloration, selected for its intricate contrasting stripes. In very good condition for its age. Hallmarked with the head of the wild boar, a French standard mark denoting a silver content of .800/1000 silver. Measures 2 1/4" in length.
