Sevres Felix Aubert N°40 Art Deco Cobalt Gilt Porcelain Vase Large 16 Inch Tall - France, 1926

Elegant 16" tall porcelain vase model N°40 designed by Felix Aubert and manufactured by Sevres in midst of the Art Deco period (1926). It is decorated with delicate gilt painted leaves on a blue ground known as Bleu de Sevres, a color achieved with a painstaking, multi layer, hand-painted technique. It is marked on the underside with a lozenge enclosing the letter S, the year 1926 and initials DA which stand for "Dure ancienne'' (hard ancient), the type of paste utilized to make this vase. Shape N°40 was decorated in a variety of colors and different patterns, some quite bold such as Chasse au tigre (Tiger Chase). This is a heavy and substantial piece. In excellent condition as shown. Shipped professionally packed and fully insured with tracking number.
