Embroidered Sampler Family Register Massachusetts / Maine Abishai Pease and Mary Raymond

Embroidered family register and alphabet sampler on linen of the family of Abishai Pease (b. 1758 in Martha's Vineyard, son of Abishai ( or Abisha ) Pease and Sarah Freeland ) and Mary Abigail Raymond (b. 1766 in Nantucket, daughter of Samuel Raymond and Abigail Long) . The embroidery includes their dates of birth, marriage (1786), and children's names: Shubael , Velina, Charles, Abigail, Jeremiah, and Edee (commonly spelled Edith). Shortly after their wedding , Abishai and his wife Mary Abigail moved to Wilton, Maine were their children were born. Both Abishai and Mary Abigail are buried in the E. Wilton cemetery. Abishai Pease was a husbandman (small landowner) and descendant of members of the Pease family of Great Baddow, County Essex, England who immigrated to New England in 1634. In good used condition with toning, incomplete embroidery and imperfections as shown. Comes in a lovely maple frame. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
