Oil on Canvas Still Life with Orange Poppies by Harold Dow Bugbee - c. 1930's, USA

Striking oil on canvas still life painting depicting bright orange poppies in a vase. It comes in a lovely painted and distressed wood frame as shown. It's inscribed Bugbee on the back of the canvas (see last photo). Harold Dow Bugbee (born August 15, 1900 – died March 27, 1963) was an American artist born in Massachusetts and active in the Texas panhandle. He is best known for his paintings of western life. A similar style Bugbee still life entitled "Zinnias", painted in 1927, was shown in the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum exhibit "Lone Star Still Lives" in 2009. In very good used condition with minor imperfections to frame as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
