Set 4 Early French Bon Genre Color Engravings Framed - 19th Century, France

Beautiful and illustrative set of four French color engravings from Le Bon Genre series. Le Bon Genre was a series of 104 engravings illustrating the customs and fashions of Paris first published in 1817. They are beautifully framed and matted, in antique gilt frames and mats decorated in the traditional fashion, with hand drawn lines, watercolor borders and gilt foil bands. Subjects portrayed are the following: Costumes Anglais & Francais (Plate 74), La Toilette Chinoise (Plate 63), and Costumes Anglais (Plates 69 and 72). Close observation shows the French opinion of English fashion. In good used condition with toning and foxing to prints and imperfections to frames as shown. Prints unexamined outside of the frames, photos taken through the glass which explain reflections. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
