Iwo Jima Black & White Photograph and Newspaper Clippings - 20th Century, USA

Historic black and white photographic print showing five United States Marines and a U.S. Navy corpsman raising the United States flag at the top of Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945 during the Battle of Iwojima in World War II. Inscription on cardboard backing states provenance (from the original Joe Rosenthal negative). Several Iwo Jima related newspaper articles published in 1995 in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the battle are also included. Photo is in good used condition with toning, foxing and yellowed tape remnants on reverse; new mat and frame. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
