Striking black and white dry point etching entitled "The return of the plate fleet" signed in pencil lower right Norman Wilkinson, a distinguished British marine artist (b. 1878- d. 1971). Norman Wilkinson was also known as wartime camoufleur during World War I and II and created a painting entitled Plymouth Harbour for the Titanic, which was lost with the ship. The plate fleet refers to the Spanish Armada galleons that transported silver (plata in Spanish) from the new world to Spain. In very good used condition with minor toning and imperfections to frame as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
