Chinese Green Inscribed Rectangular Scholar Ink Stone / Slab

Chinese thick, rectangular green inkstone / slab with rounded corners. Ink stones are often called one of the four treasures of the scholars studio. This piece has a large ink grinding area where the artisan centered a large circular marking. A slightly sunk area decorated with a carved dragon amidst stylized waves and clouds serves as a water reservoir. It is inscribed on the reverse with Chinese characters. The line on the right from top to bottom means: purple stone mill (紫石坊) . The line on the left is a person's name: Jiang Ai Wen (江艾文). In very good condition with minor imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.

Measurements: 6.1" by 3.9" by 1" (15.5 cm by 10 cm by 2.5 cm) approximately. Weight: 2 lbs.
