Chinese thick, rectangular green inkstone / slab with rounded corners. Ink stones are often called one of the four treasures of the scholars studio. This piece has a large ink grinding area where the artisan centered a large circular marking. A slightly sunk area decorated with a carved dragon amidst stylized waves and clouds serves as a water reservoir. It is inscribed on the reverse with Chinese characters. The line on the right from top to bottom means: purple stone mill （紫石坊) . The line on the left is a person's name: Jiang Ai Wen （江艾文）. In very good condition with minor imperfections as shown.
