Beautiful, large, and striking classical-shaped Japanese Awaji Ware pottery vase with a bright turquoise color glaze. Awaji pottery was made between 1830 and 1939 on Japan's Awaji island. The kilns closed in 1939 before World War II. Unmarked on the underside as older, pre 1890 pieces often are. U.S. tariff law required that JAPAN be written on goods exported from that country starting in 1890 and Made in Japan starting in 1922. Discounted because of neck repair, glaze losses and imperfections as shown, still displays beautifully. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
Measurements: 14.5" tall (not including stand) (36.8 cm) approximately.
