Antique Carved Horn Circular Snuff Box - c. 1820, France

Early, circa 1820, most likely French round cow horn snuff box decorated with a carved Memento Mori scene full of symbolism. "Memento Mori" is Latin for "Remember your mortality," a message represented in art for many centuries. The carving on this box shows a winged cherub placing a wreath over two doves facing each other while standing on a column. In good used condition with small losses and imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.

Measurements: Diameter: 2.75" inches (7 cm ). Height: 0,375" (1 cm) approximately.
