Extraordinary KPM hand-painted porcelain plaque after the 1842 painting by German Romantic painter Karl Friedrich Lessing (1808-1880) depicting Bohemian Protestant reformer Jan Hus (1371-1415) at the Council of Constance defending his faith knowing full well it would result in his being burned at the stake for heresy. The plaque is marked on the underside with impressed KPM initials and scepter. It also has an impressed capital H letter (usually found on older plaques [c.1850]). In very good condition with minor imperfections to frame as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number. Measurements: 10" by 7.5" approximately (25 cm by 19 cm).
