White Blue Jar with Boys at Play - Kangxi Mark, China
Chinese small-necked vessel / jar decorated with an under-the-glaze pattern of boys at play (also referred to as 100 boys) and a star shape around the neck. It is marked on the underside with a Kangxi mark and two concentric circles. The boys-at-play motif decoration in Chinese art is a symbol of male progeny and represent the wish of numerous offspring. In very good condition with crazing and minor imperfections as shown.
