Antique Children Playing Chess Group Figurine Biscuit Parian Volkstedt - 19th Century, Germany

Beautiful antique, all-white, biscuit / parian group figurine of two children playing chess, the boy watching with a smile as the girl concentrates planning her next move. It is marked on the underside with the blue arrow mark used by Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanfabrik Triebner Ens & Co. in the 1894 to 1900 period. Biscuit is unglazed porcelain with a matte finish, mostly used for making small sculptures. Biscuit porcelain is sometimes referred to as bisque or parian. In very good used condition with minor imperfections as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.

Measurements. Oval base is 6.75" long by 4.75" wide (17 cm by 12 cm). Figure is 5.5" tall (14 cm) approximately.
