The Heisey Glass Company made our "Beaded Swag" covered butter dish between 1899 and 1904. Pattern # 1295. Opal early American pattern glass glows fiery red when held up to the light. EAPG milk glass is scarce and very desirable.
Decorated with hand painted purple flowers and buds with green stems and leaves. The beads on the lid and the sawtooth edge of the bottom are painted gold.
Our butter dish measures 7 ½" in diameter and 5" high. The dish has no chips or cracks. I see one hard to find chipped bead on the lid and some of the gold is worn.
A gorgeous, antique butter dish!
