Impressive Basket Weave Amphora Vase with applied Flowers
This is a beautiful example of the organic, naturalistic design of the Austrian potters in the late 1800's. The creamy white basket is the perfect backdrop for the gilded flowers which are applied to it. The handle and rim are the gray green so popular on the Amphora pottery.
It is marked with the impressed crown and Amphora in the oval.
It is in mint condition. I cannot see any chips anywhere on the piece. There is a small firing hole under the handle on each side to allow for expansion during the firing process. (As seen in photo # 3)
It measures 9" tall.
